Fall Family Portraits at Bywater Hollow Lavender Farm

This fall, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a lovely family at the stunning Bywater Hollow Lavender Farm in Lincoln, CA. The session came about after a kind referral from a friend (love when that happens!), and I couldn’t wait to meet this wonderful crew. The setting was absolutely breathtaking, with amazing fall foliage in vibrant shades of red and orange that made the perfect backdrop for this heartfelt family session.

For this session, I brought out both of my favorite cameras: the Canon R5 and the Canon R6 Mark II. Paired with two of Canon’s absolute best lenses—the RF 28-70mm f/2 for its versatility and the legendary 85mm f/1.2 “beast” for those creamy, dreamy portraits—the gear helped me bring out the best of the setting and this family’s connection. From posed shots to candid moments full of laughter and love, every image came together beautifully.

There’s something so special about capturing families in such an intimate and joyful way, especially surrounded by the beauty of fall leaves. I left the session with a full heart, grateful for the opportunity to create memories they’ll treasure forever.
